Pa Bobo Jobarteh

Pa Bobo, the rising start of Gambian roots music, is a close friend of ours, having come to stay with both Paul and Tony in the UK in recent years.  In 2006, whilst staying with Tony in Sheffield, he recorded a jazz version of Kelefa Ba, a Gambian kora classic, with an upcoming roots fusion band called Rafiki.  Kelefa Jazz is now played daily on Gambia radio and will be available as a podcast download soon.    Pa Bobo sit on grass, holding his kora and flanked by two young women. One is his wife Binta.
